About This Game
In this virtual team building event, competing teams take on the role of a grizzly detective on the means streets of Amsterdam in the 1980s. The Red Light District is a hive of scum and villainy. You and your co-workers have been called out to investigate a dead body… but there’s something different about this case. Who will figure it out first?
You will be split into teams of 1-6 players (or more, if your prefer). By sharing screens and discussing over video chat, each team will work together to explore the city, solve puzzles, and crack the case. With over 30 locations to explore, the whole city is at their fingertips. There are multiple ways to solve each puzzle and many pathways through the story. Each group will have a unique experience and there will be plenty to discuss after this online team game!
Teams will learn the real history of Amsterdam in the 1980s as they dodge gangsters, investigate crime scenes and question criminals. A jazz soundtrack adds a sombre mood to this grim world. The competitive tension and noir mood makes the perfect after-work activity, holiday party game, or end-of-year event entertainment.
The Game Master will set the scene, tell the story and guide the teams through the game. Teams can ask the Game Master for hints, but too many hints will count against their final time. The game is run through a video conferencing app, such as Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, depending on your preference. No additional software is required to run the game. The game usually takes under two hours to play, however it can be shortened as needed.
This game is based on a true story from Amsterdam’s history. While there are no explicit images, some of the themes include prostitution, drugs and other fun stuff. If that’s not your thing, no worries – check out our other online games The Monuments Mission and The Beggar of Barcelona.
