What is it?
Mystery City Games are outdoor treasure hunt adventures based on real stories. You will visit locations in the city, find clues hidden in the city’s architecture, and solve escape-room style puzzles along the way. You can play competitively, but you can also relax and go your own pace, enjoying shops or cafés. Pick up a backpack of tools and set out on a journey – we believe treasure hunts are more fun with real treasure maps, locks, and beautiful pieces. How It Works:
- You will meet the Game Master at our Secret Headquarters to pick up a backpack containing all of the materials that you need to play: treasure maps, boxes, locks, and magical tools
- Follow an ancient treasure map as you walk through Barcelona’s city center or old Gothic and Jewish quarter discovering must-see city sites and monuments such as Plaza Catalunya, Palau de la Musica, the Cathedral, Plaza del Rei, Alchemist’s House and much more!
- Solve puzzles while exploring Barcelona’s top attractions and having fun with your friends or family on a holiday, bachelorette party, or weekend out. If you only have one day in Barcelona, this is the way to see it!
- Learn true stories from the city’s history
The Story
We have two adventures to choose from in Barcelona: In The Secret of Cerdà, players follow the path of a mysterious architect as the city grows. In The Search for the Snake Stone, learn about witches, kings, and sorcerers in medieval Barcelona.

Can my kids play?
The games were made for adults, but are a very fun thing to do with kids or teenagers too. For kids, we recommend our game The Secret of Cerdà, which is more simple and requires less reading. Kids ages 6 and older can play when accompanied by an adult.

Where is it?
The game starts and ends at Maximum Escape 3 in Calle Bruc 9, near Plaza Urquinaona. The route covers approximately 3km and passes by five key sites in the city.
